Positions
Our lab is at the intersection of multiple disciplines, and we encourage the participation of individuals from a variety of educational backgrounds, including biology, chemistry, and engineering.
Postdocs
Applicants should hold, or be about to complete, a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cancer biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field. Candidates will be expected to work both independently and in collaboration with other researchers. Experience with cellular and molecular biology, biomaterials, or developing in vitro organotypic models are all highly desirable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Applicants will be expected to integrate into a multidisciplinary setting composed of staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter describing their past research experience and research interests, an electronic copy of their CV, and complete contact information for three references to Prof. Kreeger via email at kreeger@wisc.edu.
Graduate Students
We accept graduate student applications through the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Cancer Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Cellular and Molecular Patholoy, Endocrinology and Reproductive Physiology, and Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology programs. We look for applicants with previous wet-lab experience in molecular-cellular biology, genomics-proteomics, cell-tissue engineering, or BioMEMs. Students with a background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or mathematics are also encouraged to apply, but be aware that we do not currently have any thesis projects that are purely computational. Please see the individual program websites for more information on their requirements and application process. Additionally, the Kreeger lab is a part of the Quantitative Biology Initiative that connects researchers across the UW-Madison campus.
Undergraduate Students
We consider undergraduates from all departments at UW-Madison but look most seriously at sophomores who are interested in finding a research lab to work in for several semesters. Expected time commitments are 10-15 hours per week during the academic year, preferably in blocks of three to five hours at a time. Space is dependent on the availability of graduate/post-doc mentors. Undergraduates interested in conducting research with the lab should submit the following materials electronically to Dr. Kreeger for consideration:
1) A resume, including work history and references
2) An unofficial academic transcript
3) A brief statement about their interest in working in the lab
Research Staff
We do not have any openings for research staff at this time.
